| Vapor Intrusion Remediation | Over the past twenty two years, personnel at Clean Vapor have designed and installed over nine thousand radon and vapor intrusion mitigation systems.
Although the main source of projects has been in the North East, we have experience throughout the continental United States and Alaska.
Our personnel were on site providing technical assistance and developed entrainment models at the first EPA funded vapor extraction project during 1985 at Bowling Green Kentucky.
From those days forward there has been a continuous refinement of diagnostic procedures and technology application.
We have designed and installed systems for buildings constructed over diverse soil conditions.
We have remediated buildings over clay soils, shale, fractured rock, the compacted clay sands of Florida, the karsts in the Midwest, Glacial Moraines of the North West and Alaska including Permafrost.
The project portfolio, managed by personnel at Clean Vapor, ranges from residential properties, historic buildings, multi-story steel concrete schools, commercial warehouses, strip malls, office buildings, Properties in NJ DEP remedial programs and US EPA Indoor Air Quality Head Quarters in Edison NJ. |

Although the same mechanical principles that are used to design radon systems are applied to vapor extraction, designing vapor extraction systems is significantly different from designing a radon system.
Most properties that have radon problems have radon concentrations between 4.0 pCi/l and 10.0 pCi/l and the standard for corrective action is 4.0pCi/l.
Achieving a sixty percent reduction is well within the technical abilities of most companies. When your goal for example is to achieve an indoor concentration of less than 0003 parts per billion by volume (ppbv) trichloroethene (TCE) and the staring concentrations is 0640 ppbv that means a 99.7 percent reduction is required.
There are an extremely limited number of consultants that have the understanding of building science and soil gas mechanics to deliver the desired result. At Clean Vapor we have the expertise, equipment and experience to provide solutions for the most challenging buildings. |
